Ante Babić was born on May 26, 1966 in Trier, Federal Republic of Germany. He is a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ; Croatian: Hrvatska Demokratska Zajednica) and has been a member of the Croatian Parliament since 2011.

Babić entered the Croatian Parliament in December 2011 as a substitute for Damir Krstičević. He is a member of the Committee on Human and National Minority Rights, the Committee on Croats outside the Republic of Croatia, the Interparliamentary Co-operation Committee, the Executive Committee of the National Group to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, as well as the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean. His previous parliamentary functions include memberships in the Gender Equality Committee and the Committee on the Family, Youth and Sports.

He has entered the 7th Assembly of the Croatian Parliament in December 2011. He is a member of the Human Rights and Minorities Rights Commitee, the Croats outside the Republic of Croatia Commitee, the Trans-Parliamentary Cooperation Commitee, the Inter-Parliamentary Union's National Groups in Croatian Parliament Executive Board, and a member of the Croatian delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean.

Babić graduated from the Faculty of Economics, University of Split. Having completed a postgraduate specialist programme at the same Faculty, he acquired the qualification of University Specialist of European Economic Integrations.

He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Split obtaining a Bachelor degree in Economics. At the same Faculty he later obtained his Master's degree in European Economic Integration (univ. spec. econ.).
