Wouter Koolmees was born on the 20th of March 1977 in Capelle aan den Ijssel. He is a member of the Dutch House of Representatives for the Democrats 66 Party (D66).

Political career[edit]

Before he started his political career, he was a researcher at the Dutch Economic Institute. Between 2003 and 2010, he held various different positions in the Ministry of Finance.

Education[edit]

Between 1996 and 2001, Koolmees studied social and institutional economy at the University of Utrecht.
