Juan Manuel Fernández Ortega was born in Chauchina (Granada) in December 13, 1967. He is currently a member of the Spanish Senate within the Socialist party (PSOE).

Political Career

He was a Councillor for Chauchina between 1991 and 1995. In 1995, he became Deputy Mayor and Councillor of Finance. After, he became a member of the Spanish Senate in 2008. In this mandate, he became spokeman of the Commission of Economy and Finance.

Education

Ortega has a Diploma in Education from the University of Granada.
