Aikaterini Papakosta Sidiropoulou was born in Piraeus, Greece. She is a Greek politician,laywer and political strain of New Democracy since 1988, with responsibility for informing the policy agenda.

Political Career[edit]

In 1990, the younger, nationwide, Mayor Candidate in Agia Varvara. In 1997 she was elected mmember of the Central Committee of New Democracy (only female member in the Basin). In 2004 the Prime Minister and President of New Democracy, Konstantinos Karamanlis conferred the Secretariat for Women's Affairs. Member of the European Union of Women (EUW). In 2006 she was elected Vice President of Women's Organisations in the European People's Party (EPP-WOMEN). The President of New Democracy, Antonis Samaras, after his election in November 2009, redifined Aikaterini Papakosta as the Secretary of Women's Affairs, a position she retains till present. By decision of the President, the Secretary for Women's Affairs of ND participated in the Organizing Committee of the 8th Ordinary Congress party. In January 2012, she was elected President of the Women's Political Association.

She studied Law in Aristotle University , specialized in Trade and Tax Law. She speaks English , French and Italian.

Notable Work[edit]

In 2000-2007 she was involved in the Standing Committee on Internal Affairs, Public Administration, Public Order and Justice, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Cultural Affairs and Special Standing Committee on European Affairs. She was Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship between Greece and Syria. In 2007-2009 she was involved in the Standing Committee on Social Affairs, the Standing Committee on Public Administration, Public Order and Justice, the Special Standing Committee on European Affairs, in which she served as First Vice President, the Committee on Revision of the Constitution and the party committee to examine the prison system and the living conditions of prisoners, in which she was President. She was also chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, Greece - Japan. Additionally she was a member of the Parliamentary Friendship Group Europe - Great Britain, a member of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, Greece - Russia, member of the Parliamentary Friendship Group in Greece - Syria and a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (CIUs). She was also elected Head of Sector Employment in Group Standing Committee on Social Affairs Committee.
