Olechowska started political career in 2001. In the elections of 2001, starting from 10th place on the list of electoral PO in the district near Warsaw, was elected to the Parliament. In the Fourth Term Sejm sat on the Committee on the Economy. In 2005, re-elected a deputy's term of office of the Sejm V, where she worked in the Committee for Enterprise Development and the Economy Committee again. Encompassed also the chair of the Polish-Finnish Biletaral Group and the Parliamentary Group of Women, which focused women parliamentarians from all parties sitting in the Parliament. In the parliamentary elections in 2007, the third time was a member. Deputies opened offices in Warsaw and Grodzisk. In elections in 2011, successfully applied for re-election. Unsuccessfully stood as a candidate in elections to the European Parliament in 2014.
