ArcelorMittal is a Dutch company registered in [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luxembourg  Luxembourg], that is one of the biggest steel producers in the world and one of the leading mining companies. The company was created in 2006 by the merger of Arcelor and Mittal Steel. Its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman is Lakshmi Mittal. Arcelor has steelmaking operations in over 20 countries and produces 6% of the worlds steel output. In 2013, the company produced 91,2 million tonnes of steel. Mining is another important operation within Arcelor, as they have mining facilities in 10 countries and in 2013 they produced 70,1 million tonnes of iron ore and 8,8 million tonnes of coal.

The goal of these operations is to create cleaner processes, less CO2, use less water and energy and also make greener products and  ensure their activities are more sustainable. === Activities in the Field of Humanitarian Aid ===

The ArcelorMittal Foundation is part of the company, it was formed in 2007 and its mission  is to support social and economic development in the areas, where the company operates. The main fields, that the foundation supports is health, education and community development. They are partners with NGOs, schools,  local social and environmental institutions in more than 30 countries. In 2012 they supported 725 local projects.

The ArcelorMittal Foundation also offers mini-grants for their employees for community projects, that the employee is involved in. This Foundation also offers mini-grants to their employees for innovative projects in technology. The Foundation supported the Bem Bank in Brazil by providing access to small loans. These loans helped in local entrepreneurships and creating job opportunities. In 2010 they also supported the victims in Haiti by offering medical care. ArcelorMittal also donated an emergency trailer to the Red Cross in Czech Republic.

ArcelorMittal is an active supporter of music, arts and culture. In 2010 they organised a workshop on dance, music and theatre, where they could learn about the community from voluntary teachers. ArcelorMittal Romania sponsors the mountain bike contest at Garboavele forest, as well as the handball team of the Sendreni School.
