Climate change refers to significant and lasting changes in the statistical distribution of weather conditions over periods of time. Climate change can be caused by oceanic or [[Biotic|biotic]] processes, variations in the solar system, plate tectonics and volcanic eruptions, as well as human-induced alterations of the natural world. These human-induced alterations are considered the current cause of [[Global Warming|global warming]]. Climate change is often used to describe human-specific impacts, but in fact it refers to a lot more than just human- induced alterations to climatic processes and also includes natural factors that affect these processes.
