After graduating from the prestigious Federal Grammar School of Vienna, Dr. Brusek received his University education at the University of Vienna where he studied Law, graduating with a Doctorate degree (1963). He has since been awarded honorary doctorates from the Univerisities of Montan (1993), Cracow, Bratislava and Czernowitz.

Biography

Erhard Busek was a member of the national council from 1975 though 1995. She was the leader of the Ministry for Education and Culture from 1994 to 1995. From 1991 to 1995, she was the Vice-Chancellor of Austria. Starting in 1989, she was appointed as the Federal Minister for Science and Research till 1991. She then became the leader of the Ministry for Science and Research from 1991 to 1994. She was a member of the Vienna provincial government from 1976 to 1978, and again from 1987 to 1989. Starting in 1978, she was a member of the municipal council of Vienna, as well as a member of the Vienna State Parliament till 1983. Busek assumed the position as party leader of the ÖVP from 1976 to 1989, and again from 1991 to 1995. From 1978 to 1987, she was Vice-Mayor and assumed the position of acting governor of Vienna.
