His notoriety significantly grew in 1967, when he started to work in football sector and became commissioner and president of AC Milan, a position he held until 1971. Later he was three times President of the FIGC (Italian Football Federation) and from 1978 to 1987 President of CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee).
