Josip Benčić was born on 28 June 1961 in Karlovac. He is a member of the Social Democratic Party of Croatia (SDP; Croatian: Socijaldemokratska partija Hrvatske) and was a member of the Croatian Parliament (Hrvatski sabor).

Political Career

His term as the member of the Croatian Parliament began on 23 December 2011 as Slavko Linić's substitute. His term of office ceased on 15 May 2014 upon termination of the suspension of Slavko Linić. His previous parliamentary functions consisted of being a member of Elections, Appointments and Administration Committee, the Finance and Central Budget Committee, and the War Veterans Committee.

Education

He graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb.
