Juan Manuel Jiménez Morán

Juan Manuel Jiménez Morán was born on 22nd September 1956 in Verín, Spain. He is a Spanish politician, member of the Senate and member of the Popular Party (PP).

Political Career

In the municipal elections of 1983, he was chosen as councilor for the Popular Alliance in Verin. He has remained for nearly three decades in Verin’s Town Hall, occupying various positions in the government, becoming Mayor in 1995. In 1999 and 2003 he was reelected, but in 2004 he left the mayor's office by a motion of censure. He became Mayor again after the elections of 2007 and was reelected in 2011 with an absolute majority, a position which he still holds.

Likewise, he was chosen by the Galician Popular Party as director of the board of CRTVG and, in November 2011, after the general elections, he was appointed by the Parliament of Galicia as a Senator.

Education

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and medical transport assistance.
