Zacharias Koulias was born in Famagusta in 1950. He is a Greek/Cypriot politician and lawyer.

Political Career

Zacharias Koulias is a representative of Famagusta constituency under the banner of the Democratic Party (DIKO) 1999-2011 and independent since June 2011, after he was struck out from the parliamentary group of DIKO.

He served as Member of the board of the Cyprus Ports Authority for the period 1994-1999,Member of the DIKO Central Committee between 1985-2011,Member of the DIKO Executive Bureau until June 2011. Moreover he served as Deputy Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Financial and Budgetary Affairs, Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Communications and Works. He currently serves as Member of the House Standing Committee on Defence Affairs and of the House Standing Committee on Refugees-Enclaved-Missing-Adversely Affected Persons.

Education

Zacharias Koulias graduated in Law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.He speaks English.
