Andros Kyprianou was born in Nicosia in 1955. He is a Greek/Cypriot politician and professional executive in the AKEL Central Committee.

Political Career[edit]

Andndros Kyprianou is a representative of Nicosia constituency under the banner of AKEL-Left-New Forces since 2001. He served as Member of the Strovolos Municipal Council from 1996 to 2001,Member of the AKEL Strovolos Cluster Committee,and Member of the AKEL Nicosia District Committee. He serves Member of the AKEL Central Committee since 1990, of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee since 1995 and of the Secretariat of the Central Committee since 2000. He served as Spokesman of AKEL for the period 2003-2009. Moreover he served as General Secretary of the AKEL Central Committee since 2009,Member of the National Council, the supreme advisory body to the President of the Republic on the Cyprus problem, since 2008.

Education[edit]

Andros Kyprianou graduated in Civil Engineering from the Higher Technical Institute (ATI), courses in Pedagogics (Cyprus Pedagogical Institute) and further training in Wood Technology (Rimini Training School, Italy).He speaks English and Italian.
