Yiannos Lamaris was born in Limassol in 1955. He is a Greek/Cypriot politician and commercial scientist.

Political Career

Yiannos Lamaris is a representative of Limassol constituency under the banner of AKEL-Left-New Forces since 2001. He served as Limassol District Secretary of the United Democratic Youth Organisation (EDON) for the period 1983-1993, as Member of the EDON Central Council and of the EDON Central Secretariat for the period 1989-1993, as Member of the Limassol Municipal Council from 1991 to 2001 and leader of the Progressive Party of the Working People (AKEL) municipal group for the period 1996-2001. Last, he serves as Member of the AKEL Central Committee since 1990 and of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee since 2010.

Education

Yiannos Lamaris graduated in Business Administration [Advanced School of Economics and Commercial Sciences of Athens (ASOEE)].He speaks English.
