María Fátima Báñez García is a Spanish member of the Spanish PP ("Popular Party") and holds a position within the current government both as parlamentarian as well as minister of Employment and Social Security.

Political Career

She was born on January the 6th 1967 in San Juan del Puerto, Spain. She graduated in Economy, Business and Law and started becoming involved with politics at a regional level in Andalucia. She has been a parlamentarian since the year 2000, while holding different positions for both the PP of Andalucia and the PP at a national level. In the year 2011 the PP won the Spanish elections and she became minister of Employment and Social Security for the new government, position that she still holds nowadays.
