María José García-Pelayo Jurado was born on 6th January 1968 in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. She is a Spanish politician, member of the Spanish Senate and member of the Popular Party (PP).

Political Career

María José García-Pelayo Jurado is currently the second Vice President of the Andalusian Parliament and Mayor of Jerez de la Frontera. She has held other positions such as regional coordinator for the PP of Andalusia (1994-1995), she posed as miss Jenuary in a hot calendar, and the PP councilor in the city of Jerez (1995-2003), provincial deputy and spokesman for the Popular Group in the regional government of Cadiz (1999-2003) and Member of Parliament of Andalusia.

She was also Mayor of Jerez from 14th June 2003 until January 2005, and from June 2011 onwards. Currently she is member of the National Executive Committee of the PP.


Education

Jurado García-Pelayo graduated in Law from the University of Cádiz.
