Maria Mussini is a member of the Italian Senate for the 17th legislature.

Political Career

Born in 1967 in Reggio Emilia and graduated at Bologna University in Linguistics and foreign languages, Mussini got a PhD in European Studies in France and later worked as an high school teacher. She was elected in the Emilia Romagna region for the “Movimento 5 Stelle” in the 2013 and switched to the mixed group later that year. She has been a member of the permanent commission of foreign affairs and emigration and she is currently part of the permanent commission for historical archives, justice, and European Union policies as well as the committee for Italians that live abroad. After she worked for six months as the secretary, Mussini was expelled from the Movimento because she disagreed with her fellow members dismissal (De Pin, Mastrangeli Bencini, Bignami, Casaletto, Mussini and Romani).
