[[File:Roula.jpg|400px|thumbnail|left] Roula Mavronicola was born in Kyrenia in 1957. She is a Greek/Cypriot politician and trade unionist, President of the Socialist Women’s Movement.

Political Career

Roula Mavronicola is a representative of Nicosia constituency under the banner of KS EDEK since 2006. She served as Member of the Socialist Youth Organisation EDEN (SN EDEN) from 1981 to 1990,as Member of the Nicosia-Kyrenia District Committee of the Socialist Party EDEK (SK EDEK) for the period 1990-1999, and as Organisational Secretary of the Socialist Women’s Movement from 1987 to 1999. In addition , she is Member of the Central Committee of SK EDEK/Social Democrats Movement (KISOS)/KS EDEK since 1990 and of the Movement’s Political Bureau since 1999, Head of the KISOS/KS EDEK Committee on Equality, the Family and the Child since 2000,Member of the Committee on Equal Opportunities of the Party of European Socialists (PES) since 2000, and Member of the board of the Cyprus Gender Equality Observatory since 2005.

Education

Roula Mavronicola graduated in English Literature (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens).
