Nicola Morra was born on July 5th 1963 in Genova, Liguria. He moved to Calabria where he works as History and Philosophy teacher at Bernardino Telesio of Cosenza secondary school .

In March 2013, he was elected to the Senate with the Ttalian party Movimento 5 stelle for the district of Calabria. He has also been the vice president of the Affari Costituzionali permanent Commission since May 7th 2013.
