An Opportunity for Young People to Show Their Ideas through Film

If you are young and you want to show your personal way to change international relations and politics, or just to show how you imagine an ideal civil society and you have some interesting ideas about the future, then the EU is giving you the opportunity to show the world what you can do in a 150 second long video. Shining Stars of Europe is a video contest inviting people from all over Europe and beyond to express their ideas for the future. Every edition features a new theme –which this year is “Make a Difference”. Shining Stars of Europe empowers young people by offering them a platform on which they can present their own ideas to large audiences.

This fourth edition is organised with the support of the European Year for Development and was launched on January 9th 2015 in Riga. It is presented by the Latvian and Luxembourg 2015 Presidencies of the Council of the EU as well as the European Commission. Participation is open for everybody worldwide, regardless of nationality.

The deadline for submission for this edition is on September 30th 2015 (included) and contributions should be no longer than 150 seconds. In the video clip, you should show a particularly fruitful development cooperation project.

The jury members are normally famous actors, artistic directors, entrepreneurs, artists, filmmakers from all over the world to evaluate the international scope of the videos from the young candidates.

Shining Stars of Europe offers a good opportunity to exchange ideas between people from different nationalities and to share positive values and innovations between young people.
