Susan Catherine Campbell, Baroness Campbell of Loughborough, CBE (born 10 October 1948), is a British sports administrator who has been Chairman of UK Sport since 2003.

Political Career

Susan Campbell was appointed to the House of Lords on the 10th November 2008. Her focus in the House of Lords is Culture, Media and Sport and Education

Education

Campbell was educated at Long Eaton Grammar School and Bedford College of Physical Education and obtained a Master of Education degree from the University of Leicester. She worked for a time as a Physical Education teacher at Whalley Range High School in Manchester. After this she became Deputy Director of Physical Education at Leicester University in 1972. She then worked as a lecturer in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science at Loughborough University and was granted an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from the University of Bedfordshire in 2011.

Notable Work

Baroness Campbell has had a long career working in Sports and Education. She has worked as Chair at the Youth Sport Trust and the International Development through Sport and as a trustee at the International Inspiration Foundation. In 1984 she was appointed Chief Executive of the National Coaching Foundation from until 1995, following this she became Chief Executive of the Youth Sport Trust In 2000 she became PE Adviser for the Departments for Culture, Media & Sport and for Education in Science. She left this post in 2004. Between 2003 and 2005 he became Reform Chair for UK Sport and was then promoted to Chair of the Youth Branch, namely Youth Sport Trust in 2005. Between 2005 and 2012 she was Chair of UK Sport.
