George Varnava was born in Famagusta in 1968. He is a Greek/Cypriot politician and teacher.

Political Career[edit]

Representative of Famagusta constituency under the banner of the Social Democratic Movement (KISOS) 2001-2003 and under the banner of the KS EDEK since 2003. He served as Famagusta District Secretary of the Socialist Youth Organisation EDEN (SN EDEN) for the period 1997-2000,Member of the Central Council of the SN EDEN, then of the Social Democratic Youth (NEOS),Observer to the European Parliament for the period 2003-2004 and member of the Political Group and of the Political Bureau of the European People’s Party,and Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament for the period 2003-2004.
