Wendt, Alexander (1958 - )[edit]

A political scientist from Germany, who is best known for his contributions to the theory of social constructivism. Constructivism proposes that international politics is made up of perceptions that are developed over time and that cooperative behaviour can be developed to overcome the problem of the so-called anarchic international system. Wendt has previously lectured at Yale University, Dartmouth College, the University of Chicago and is currently the Ralph D. Mershon Professor of International Security at Ohio State University.
