Editing Edmund Nigel Crisp

Edmund Nigel Crisp, Lord Crisp, was born on the 14th January 1952. He has previously worked as a civil servant in the Department of Health and a Senior Manager in the NHS. 

==Political Career==

Edmund Crisp joined the House of Lords on the 28th April 2006 after being recommended by Tony Blair due to his contribution to British Healthcare. He received the title Baron Crisp of Eaglescliffe in the County of Durham. During his time in the House of Lords, he served on the Merits of Statutory Instruments Committee from 2007 until 2009. His political interests include Culture, Media and Sport; Health services and Medicine and Global Health. 

==Education==

Lord Crisp began his education at Uppingham School and then moved on to study philosophy at St John’s College, Cambridge.  

==Notable Work==

He has been Co-chair of the Zambia UK Health Workforce Alliance since 2009 and chair of Sightsavers since 2007. In 2007 he published a report titled ‘Global Health Partnerships’ for the Prime Minister which detailed on what more the UK can do to support health improvement in developing countries. His book ‘Turning the world upside down- the search for global health in the 21st Century’ was published in 2010.
