Jon Stewart (born November 28, 1962) is an American comedian, political satirist, actor, writer, director and producer from [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City New York, New York.] 
Stewart started as a stand-up comedian, but branched into television for [http://www.cc.com/ Comedy Central]. He went on to host his own show on MTV called The Jon Stewart Show. He has also had several film roles as an actor, but has done few cinematic projects since becoming the host of [http://thedailyshow.cc.com/ The Daily Show] on Comedy Central in early 1999.
[http://thedailyshow.cc.com/ The Daily Show], although being hugely popular, has attracted a large amount of criticism over Stewart’s political positions, mainly from the American political right wing.

In 2001, Stewart attended the Annual Concert for the Parkinson Foundation in support of one of his favourite childhood teachers, who was struck by the disease.
