In 2006 there were local elections in Poland. The President of Białystok made Sosna vice-president. On 13 December 2010 Sosna was appointed as social advisor to the President for the Orthodox community and the Belarusian minority in Poland. On June 27th, 2014, he left this role to take up the mandate of a member of the Polish Parliament.
