He actively participated in the struggle against Junta as a student of Economics and Law and was a member of the Steering Committee at the Polytechnic uprising. He was arrested by Ioannidis Junta because of his participation in the events of the Polytechnic, tortured in EAT-ESA and remained in prison until the fall of Junta in the summer of 1974. He suffered very cruel tortures and beatings by EAT-ESA men and was hospitalized in critical condition in Papamakaristos hospital.

In 1980, he attended the London School of Economics for postgraduate studies in Economics with specialization in Monetary Theory and Operational Research. He then went back to the place of his birth, New York to achieve a PhD in Econometrics from the City University and ended his educational career after studying Modern Theory Analysis at Courant School of Applied Mathematics.
