Farshad Bashir joined the SP in 2002. He was a member of the city council of SP in the Leeuwarden municipality from 2006 until 2008. In 2008 Farshad Bashir became a member of the Dutch House of Representatives for the SP. He is spokesman for fiscal affairs, traffic and transport.
