Joram van Klaveren is a Dutch politician and former teacher. He has been a member of the Dutch House of Representatives from June 17th, 2010 until March 21st, 2014 representing the Party for Freedom (PVV). He currently holds this position of his own account after leaving the Party for Freedom. He focuses on matters of desegregation, employment-to-population ratio, egalitarianism and emancipation. Since March 24th, 2011 he has also been a member of the provincial state of Flevoland. On March 21th, 2014 Van Klaveren announced that he will no longer be part of the Party for Freedom, as he no longer agrees with the party's course. The controversial comments on the Moroccan minority in The Netherlands by party leader Geert Wilders after the 2014 council elections played a part in his decision. Van Klaveren will continue as a member of the House on his own account. In May 2014 Joram van Klaveren, Louis Bontes and Johan Driessen founded a new conservative political party: VoorNederland (VNL). From March 2006 to June 2009 he was a member of the municipal council of Almere on behalf of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD).
