William Richard Inglewood was Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for Cumbria and Lancashire North from 1989 to 1994 and for North West England from 1999 to 2004. At the 1983 general election he stood as the Conservative candidate in the traditionally Labour constituency of Houghton and Washington, where he finished third with 24% of the votes.
