Franco Carraro has served the Italian Parliament as Senator representing the region Emilia Romagna since 2013. Franco Carraro, born in Padua, Veneto, on December 6th 1939, is an Italian sports manager and politician. Among the Fifties and Sixties he was European champion in water skiing. His notoriety significantly grew in 1967, when he started to work in football sector and became commissioner and president of AC Milan, a position he held until 1971. Later he was three times President of the FIGC (Italian Football Federation) and from 1978 to 1987 President of CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee). Since 1982 he is member of the International Olympic Committee.
