Bohuslav Svoboda was born on February the 8th, 1944 in Prague. He is a Czech gynaecologist and obstetrician and a politicians of the Civic Democratic Party. Between 2010-2013 he was the Mayor of Prague.

Bohuslav Svoboda graduated from the Medical Faculty of Hygiene, Charles University in Prague. Between 2003-2010 he was also head of the 3rd Medical Faculty of Charles University.

After an agreement on a coalition government with the Social Democrats he became the mayor of Prague, the Czech capital. Although he was considered a fair mayor, on 23 May 2013 he was dismissed from the post of Mayor. In the autumn of that year he was elected to Parliament.
