Tomaž Gantar (born March 21, 1960 in Koper) is a former Slovenian Minister of Health and a member of the Slovenian National Assembly.

Political career

From 2006 to 2010 he was Mayor of Municipality of Piran in Slovenia. Afterwards, from 2012 to 2013 he was a Minister of Health, and since 2014 he is a member of the Slovenian National Assembly.

He is an active member of DeSUS (Democratic Party of Pensioners of Slovenia).

Education

In 1987, he graduated from Faculty of Medicine, and then in 1994 he finished his specialization in urology.
