Algirdas Sysas (born 5 March 1954 in Vilnius, Lithuania) is a Lithuanian social democratic politician. He is the Deputy Speaker of the Seimas (Parliament) of the Republic of Lithuania since November 2012 and Deputy Chair of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party since 2009.
Political career

In 1996 he was listed as a non-party member on the Social Democratic Party list and was elected for the first time to the Parliament. Education
Algirdas Sysas graduated Vilnius Polytechnic College in 1973. After three years of service at the Soviet army, he continued his studies at Faculty of Economics at Vilnius University.
