From 1992 to 2000 in the parliament belonged to the movement, then the Christian Democrats led by Lithuanian-Czech inter parliamentary relations group. After worked on the defense system projects, participated in the special missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chechnya and Georgia. Political career of Algidras started in 1988, he became a member of the Initiative Group in Kaunas, took part in a Lithuanian Reform Movement. In 1990 was elected to Supreme Council in Žaliakalnis constituency. From 1992 to 2000 in the parliament belonged to the movement, then the Christian Democrats led by Lithuanian-Czech inter parliamentary relations group.
