Alastair John Lyndhurst Bruce Baron Aberdare was born on 2 May 1947. He has been a non-partisan elected hereditary peer since 2009.
Political career
In July 2009 he was elected to sit in the House of Lords. He succeeded his father after his death. He has been a member of the information Committee since 2001 and from 2009 to 2012 he was the director of Waltz Programmes Ltd - Learning for Work. He was a partner of Bruce Naughton Wade from 1991 to 1999. Then, he took up the role of director of ProbusBNW in 1999 and was a trustee of The National Botanic Garden of Wales Board from 1994 to 2006. He was also a fellow of The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce and an honorary Fellow of Cardiff University since July 2008. Education
