Despoina Charalampidou was born in Kilkis in 1959. She is a Greek politician. Elected as congresswoman in the elections of 6th May and re-elected in the Congressional Elections of 17th June 2012 in the ballot of Syriza.
Political Career
From an early age takes part in syndicalistic political and social races. A member of the Greek Communist Youth and the Greek Communist Party since 1978. Now a member of Coalition (Synaspismos) since its foundation, in the central political committee of it. Remained Chairwoman of the Clothing Syndicate (1981-1988), the Industrial Corporation of the clothing business TOPS A.E (1985-1992) and the administrative committee of the Labour Center in the Administration of the General Confederation of Greek Workers in Thessaloniki(1996-1999). A Deputy Secretary of Labour Center of Thessaloniki since 2002 and Deputy Chairwoman of the Clothing-Textile and Knitting Syndicate of Northern Greece. A member of the secretariat of the political committee of Coalition (Synaspismos) in Thessaloniki and member of the Department of Workers’ Policy of Syriza.
Education Career
Graduate of the Department of Business Administration and Management of the University of Macedonia.
