Ana Blatnik, born on July 19, 1957 in Ludmannsdorf, is an Austrian politician for the Sozialdemokratische Partei Österreichs (SPÖ; Austrian Social Democratic Party) and vocational school teacher. She was a short-term member of the Austrian Federal Council in 2000-2004. In the second half of 2014, Blatnik held the position of Federal President.
Political Career
Ana Blatnik has been the President of the Federal Council since 2014. She has also been Member of the Federal Council for SPÖ since 2004. In addition, Blatnik has multiple political functions in the municipality Kärnten, where she has been a Member of the Regional Party Bureau and President of SPÖ Women since 2009.
