International Internship Programs
Bayer offers several internships for undergraduates in Germany and abroad. For recent graduates the company carries our diverse trainee programs in different areas of activity and departments, such as the International Trainee Program for Financial Management (IFM) or the International HR Trainee Program. This consists of a 18-month-long internship in one of Bayer’s subsidiaries offices worldwide,contributing to the international exchange of young professionals.
Grants and Scholarships
Bayer provides different types of educational and scientific scholarships to support study projects, internships, summer courses or doctoral studies while putting a great emphasis on internationalism by giving the possibility to German and foreign graduates to study abroad. Supporting Music & Visual Arts
The “Bayer Kultur” is the corporation’s main foundation for the promotion of arts and culture. Through the foundation, Bayer sponsors musical projects and events such as the START initiative. The aim of the initiative is to support and encourage talented young artists from all Bayer Arts & Culture’s sections, not just music but also Opera, Theatre, Art and Dance. Through the stART initiative Bayer has contributed to the development of different musical genres worldwide, specially Jazz with “Jazz in the Kulisse series” translated as the “Jazz at Midnight Series”. In addition, Bayer Kultur has financially supported several artistic projects, exhibitions and museums; the American Museum of Agriculture even changed its name to “Bayer Museum of Agriculture” after Bayer CropScience reached a sponsorship agreement with the board of the museum. The museum represents the promotion of traditional local agricultural techniques globally. Another art exhibition sponsored by the Bayer Group, was the “From Beckmann to Warhol: 20th and 21st century art from The Bayer Collection.”, which commemorated the company’s 150th Anniversary by showing some of the most important works of art from Bayer’s collection. Bayer’s contribution to the film industry is shown by supporting events such as the 2nd Science Film Festival in 2006 held in Germany or the partnership formed with the with Goethe-Institute for the development of the Science Film Festival.

The company is committed to the Promotion of human rights standards internally; all of its operations are in line with the company’s Sustainable Development Policy. Furthermore, Bayer Human Rights Position paper outlines the corporation’s commitment to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The UN Global compact announced Bayer as one of the 50 companies worldwide to sign it. The principles included apply to the areas of employees’ working conditions, harassment and discrimination, freedom of association and collective bargaining, child labor and health and safety. This commitment is materialized in projects such as “Alliance against child labor” or the “fight against AIDS”.
