About Linde AG[edit]
The Linde Group is is a multinational world leading company supplying industrial, process and speciality gases. The industrial gases are known with the names such as Linde, BOC, MOX, AGA, TIG, Afrox and PanGas. Medical gases are traded under several established brand names including Linde Gas Therapeutics, AGA Medical, INO Therapeutics, Linde Homecare, Farmadomo and Life Gas. Linde also specializes in engineering. The company designs and manufactures large-scale chemical plants for the production of industrial gases as well as large plants for the processing of natural gas, LNG, LPG and the olefins manufacture. Linde provides products and services to nearly every industry.
Engagement in Cultural Diplomacy[edit]
The Linde Group supports a number of projects across the world close to company's sites. The focus is on the projects linked with their field of business. The essential support goes to the projects in the field of education. In addition, Linde is involved in several local activities in the areas as environmental protection, health, safety and social affairs. Local initiatives are managed regionally, whereas the Group’s Corporate Centre coordinates the cross-regional involvement in the projects. Donations, sponsorships and voluntary memberships allowed the Linde Group to support over 170 projects worldwide. The Linde Group invests in the innovative research and engineering training opportunities as well as initiatives for children from precarious backgrounds. Sponsoring the Carl von Linde Academy at the Technical University of Munich where sustainability and business ethics are two among the key topics is one example. Linde staff has been actively participating in several regions as educators in the area of industry, as science ambassadors and they were also visiting schools in the UK and North America. The Linde Group also places great importance to environmental projects around the worlds. For example, the “Where There’s Water” programme in New Zealand was initiated by Linde staff; another among such programs is the HELP program in Southeast Asia where Linde employees planted approximately 20,000 trees as part of the project.

Diversity is one of the essential features as Linde aims to understand local market, local customers' demands and specific cultural identity. The Group employs people from approximately 130 different countries. German companies alone have representatives of more than 60 nations. 65 percent of senior managers in The Linde Group come from 40 different countries, excluding Germany. Over 70 percent of the senior managers in the emerging markets of China, India and Southeast Asia originate from these exact regions.
Furthermore, Linde also strives for the promotion of female managers as a part of equal opportunity policy. The goal is to raise the the proportion of women in senior management positions to between 13 and 15 percent by 2018. The company's global goals are supported by regional initiatives. Another group that Linde strives to integrate are employees with severe disabilities or health issues. In 2012, they represented 3.1 percent of total workforce.

Promoting Human- and Civil Rights[edit]
In the Code of Ethics, The Linde Group’s commitment to respect the principles of the Human Rights Charter of the United Nations are outlined . As a signatory of the UN Global Compact, the Group follows the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. The guidelines and processes adapted to match Linde’s global guidelines with human rights include the Code of Ethics; the procurement guidelines, conditions and agreements; the Integrity Line policy and Enterprise Risk Management. A statement on human rights for the Group where the support of human rights is reassured was passed by the Executive Board of Linde AG. The Linde Spirit includes company’s business values and principles. Rules and standards regarding working time, wages and benefits, non-discrimination and fairness, freedom of association and collective bargaining, forced labour and child labour are respected within the company.
Activities in the Field of Humanitarian Aid[edit]
In 2013, Linde provided emergency aid for numerous regions around the world. The Group with its employees made donation of over 170,000 USD to provide help for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. After the early summer 2013 floods in Germany a total amount of 150,000 € was donated by the staff and the company. Being involved in several healthcare initiatives, Linde cooperates, among others, with Redkite, a national charity that provides financial and practical aid for children with cancer and their families in Australia.
Supporting Music and Visual Arts[edit]
The Linde group support selected cultural institutions in order to make their business locations more interesting for the employees and the general public. For example, since 2008, the Linde Group has been a Season Partner to the Bayerische Staatsoper.
