Lucio Barani has served the Italian Parliament as a Senator representing the region Lombardia since 2013. He belongs to the parliamentary political group Grandi Autonomie e Libertà.
Lucio Barani was born in Aulla, Marche, on May 27th 1953.
Political Career[edit]
He was Mayor of his hometown Aulla from 1994 to 2004 and mayor of Villafranca in Lunigiana from 2004 to 2009. In 2001 he was appointed as Secretary-General of the Nuovo-PSI political party. In 2006 and 2008 he was appointed as a member of the Chamber of Deputies. He was appointed as Senator for the first time in 2013. As a Senator, he is also a member of the 2nd Permanent Commission on Justice and Secretary to the Senate Presidency.

Lucio Barani holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery.
