Franc Jurša (born September 21, 1953) is a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia and a member of the The Democratic Party of Pensioners of Slovenia (Slovenian: Demokratična stranka upokojencev Slovenije, also known by the acronym DeSUS).

Political Career

Jurša started his political career as the Secretary of the Municipal Association of Conference of Socialist Youth of Slovenia in the years 1978-1980, later he was also the Secretary of the Municipal Conference of the Socialist Alliance of Working People from 1984 till1988 .

In 2006, he was elected Mayor of the Municipality of Ljutomer, and two years later the representative in the National Assembly. In his second parliamentary mandate, Juršak took over the position of the Head of the parliamentary group DeSus. He still holds the same position in his current third mandate.

Education

Franc Jurša finished the college of Internal Affairs in Ljubljana.
