Patrick Robert Carter was born on the 9th February 1946. He is a member of the House of Lords.
Political Career[edit]
Patrick Robert Carter was made a life peer on the recommendation of Tony Blair. He was finally made a life peer on the 8th June 2004, receiving the title Baron Carter of Coles, of Westmill in the County of Hertfordshire.
Carter, at the request of the Labour government was able to make a significant contribution to a number of sporting events. He was responsible for resolving the financial issues that plagued the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester and was also able to resolve a major dispute between Multiplex Construction UK Ltd and Wembley National Stadium Ltd.
In his political career Lord Carter has served on the EU Sub Committee D- Agriculture, Fisheries, Environment and Energy four times.
Education[edit]
Lord Carter of Coles was educated at Brentwood school.
