Anthony Lord Greaves was born on the 27th July 1942 in Bradford, Yorkshire. He is a UK politician who represents the Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords.
Political Career[edit]
Greaves was a member of Lancashire County Council which he served on for 25 years. He then became a local councillor on Colne Borough Council and he then moved on to Pendle Borough Council where he still retains a seat. Greaves was made a peer on the 4th May 2000 receiving the title Baron Greaves, of Pendle in the County of Lancashire. Greaves focuses on policies concerning agriculture, ‘Communities and Families’, ‘energy and the environment’, ‘housing and planning’ and ‘Parliament, government and politics’. He served on the EU Sub-Committee F- Home Affairs from 2000 to 2003. He is currently serving on the Procedure Committee.
Education[edit]
Greaves was educated at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School Wakefield. He went on to study at Hertford College, Oxford where he went on to obtain a BA in Geography.
