Lia Quartapelle was born in Valese on August, 15, 1982. She is a member of the Italian Democratic Party and was elected a member of parliament in 2009.
Political Career[edit]
As a member of the Italian parliament, Lia Quartapelle represents the Foreign Affairs Commission. Therefore, she mainly deals with diplomacy, economics as well as Africa and development aid.
Education[edit]
She graduated from SOAS in London with a master in Economics, and finished her studies with a doctorate in Developmental Economics from the University of Pavia in 2012.
Notable Work[edit]
In 2007, she was part of an Italian Cooperation in Mozambique that supports the local government in achieving their own development policies.
