Steven John Baker (born 6 June 1971 in St Austell) is a British Conservative Party politician. He is the Member of Parliament for Wycombe, having been elected in the 2010 general election. Steven John Baker (born 6 June 1971 in St Austell) is a British Conservative Party politician. He is the Member of Parliament for Wycombe, having been elected in the 2010 general election. He has been a member of the executive of the 1922 Committee since May 2012.
Political Career
Baker was elected as the MP for Wycombe in 2010. In 2010 he was elected to serve as part of Parliament's Transport Committee. He served here until May 2013 when he stood down to concentrate on developing policy for public services. He has twice been elected to the Executive of the Conservative 1922 Committee. In 2014 he was appointed to the Treasury Committee.
Education
Steve Baker was educated at Poltair School and St Austell Sixth Form College, and attended the University of Southampton, where he earned a BEng in Aerospace Engineering. He later studied at St Cross College, Oxford, where he earned an MSc in Computation.
