Charles Buhagiar is a member of the Party of European Socialists (PES).
Political career
Buhagiar was first elected to Parliament in 1987 and has always been elected since then. Between 1996 and 1998, he was appointed minister on Public Projects and Construction. In this legislature he has been appointed as the consultant to the prime minister on capital projects as well as chairman and Chief Executive of the Building Industry Consultative Council. He is also a Member of Economic and Financial Affairs Committee.
Education
Charles Buhagiar is an Architect and Civil Engineer by profession. He graduated from the University of Malta in 1979 and furthered his studies in concrete technology at the Harry Stanger Institute for Materials. In 1983, Mr. Buhagiar established his own company of Consultants - Med Design.
