In 2011, he became member of the Spanish parliament representing the Socialist Party (PSOE). He is attached to the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Member of the Justice Committee. He is Also affiliated to the Commission of Interior and he is the Second Secretary of the Committee on Defence. He is Vice-Chairman of the Statute of Deputies. He is Spokesman for the Presentation of the Draft Law on Free Legal Aid and he is also an alternate Member of the Spanish Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

He has a degree in Law. He is an associate professor of Public International Law and International Relations.
