António Filipe Gaião Rodrigues was born on January 28th, 1963. He currently practices as a lawyer and University Professor.
Political Career[edit]
As well as being a Professor at the Lusophone University of Humanities and Technologies, António Filipe is also a member of the Central Committee of the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP). This is his seventh mandate as a deputy at the National Parliament for the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP), since he started his activity on the 6th legislature (04.11.1994). He currently holds a role on several parliamentary committees (Constitutional Affairs, Rights, Freedoms and Guarantees; National Defense; Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry to the programs relative to the acquisition of military equipment).

António Filipe has an undergraduate degree in Law and a master's degree in Political Science, Citizenship and Governance.

António Filipe has been awarded with the Commendation of the Order of Civil Merit of the Kingdom of Spain. He is also the author of two works: "Legislação Fundamental de Governo Local e Administração Autárquica", Coimbra, Coimbra Editora, 2003; and "As Oposições Parlamentares em Portugal - Práticas e Intervenções", Lisboa, Vega, 2002.
