Colm Burke was elected to Seanad Eireann on the Industrial and Commercial Panel in April 2011. He is the Fine Gael Seanad Spokesman on Health. Additionally, he was a member of the European Parliament for the Ireland South constituency between 2007 and 2009. He was on the Cork City Council from 1995-2007 and held the position, Lord Mayor of Cork from 2003-2004.
